Female Duck ID

1-Wigeon.

2-Tuffted Duck, can also have white band on face at base of bill.

3-Gadwall, here we see a pair of ducks with the female in front.

4-Garganey.

5-Mallard, here we see a female folowing two Drakes.

6&7-Mallard.

8-Shovler.

9-Goldeneye.

10-Pintail.

11-Scaup.

12-Eider, here we see a female following two Drakes. All birds are in breeding plumage.

13-Smew.

14-Ruddy Duck.

15-Shelduck, here the female is in front, the male has a knob on bill.

16-Ruddy Shelduck, the drake has a narrow black collar.

17&18-Teal, here we the same bird but one picture showing the Green band, sometimes this small duck will not show this feature.

19-Wood duck
