Gallery - Chasers
This is a large dragonfly which is often seen aggressively defending its territory around a garden pond or small natural pool. The abdomen shape and four large black areas at the wing bases easily distinguish this species.
Common by still waters in most of Europe. easily recognised by its large size, brown body and the black wing spots for which it gets its name.
Widespread but habitat specific,Flight season between late April to August.
