Red-backed Shrike (Lanius colluno)
A summer visitor from southern Africa.Feeds on large insects, such as grass hoppers as well assmall birds, mammals and reptiles.
Great Grey Shrike (Lanius excubitor)
Widespread in open country where it perches on the top of bushes, small trees or wires. It summers from the artic to the Mediterranean.
Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator)
The regions only Shrike with a rich chestnut crown and nape. Found in scattered trees, bushy countryside, orchards and woods. Rare visitor to the UK.
Isabelline Shrike (Lanius isabellinus)
Breeds in Mongolia and Western China, rare vagrant in UK.
