Hummingbird Hawkmoth (Macroglossum stellatarum)
Can be found almost anywhere but especially in parks and gardens.
Elephant Hawkmoth (Deilephila elenor)
Often seen near Honeysuckle at dusk
Eyed Hawkmoth (Smerinthus ocellata)
Flies faster faster than Poplar Hawkmoth but rests in the same way with hind wings projecting forward.Larva feeds on sallows and apple, almost always in an upside-down position.
Poplar Hawkmoth (Laothoe populi)
Wings range from ash grey to pinkish brown.The moth flys relatively slowly and does not feed
