Six-spot Burnet (Zygaena filipenulae)
The commonest of the burnet moths. It prefers flowery meadows and other grasslands up to about 2000m. The caterpillar is pale green with black spots and a black head and pupates in a straw coloured cocoon high up on a grass stem.
